Thanks god that your baby is healthy now. I am controlling now and I try to keep my blood suger under 110 as you said. doctor said it should be less than 120. any way thanks for your response and I need your pray friend.

My blood sugars were “well controlled” I checked my blood sugars 4 times per day and used glucophage and diet. My blood sugar readings were usually only slightly elevated at about 110. It wasn’t high enough to require insulin injections and I maintained a diabetic diet. What happened to Asher is a RARE occurence, but I just wanted to raise awareness of the seriousness of this disease because I know many moms who don’t follow their diet or take their meds because they don’t know. God Bless!

Asher was born prematurely, he was macrasomic (which just means Large For Gestational Age) because I developed gestational diabetes in my pregnancy. His lung ruptured after birth which required him to remain on life support for a couple of weeks while he healed and his lungs matured. He now has chronic lung disease because of scar tissue in his lungs and required 4 medications daily to stay well, but we are so blessed that he is such a fighter.

I have type 1 diabetes, so I can imagine what you went through. My friend’s aunt got
gestational diabetes, but she didn’t know. Her baby was born at 15 pounds, and died shortly after from insulin shock. =[
I am so glad that your baby survived, though. God Bless!

What a fighter! This video is so humbling, I CANNOT BEGIN to imagine how it felt in those early days watching that little angel fight! I’m SO happy to hear he’s doing much better! Next time I’m upset at my babies I’ll try to remember this video and remind myself how blessed we are!
GOD BLESS!! And thanks for having the courage to share!
